Pieces were scattered everywhere between the two floors, and products were stacked up to the ceiling. There weren't many products like dressers and vanities to choose from, and what there was in stock wasn't terribly trendy or unique. There was a wall of clearance items downstairs, with chairs, outdoor furniture, wine glasses, candles, dishes, and all sorts of random products.
In the worst case, it could close all of them. Among the retailers benefiting the most from the home goods retailer shuttering stores are Wayfair, HomeGoods, Target and At Home. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer. It's important to remember that Pier 1 doesn't hold the same place in its market that Toys R Us or Sports Authority did when they filed for bankruptcy. So while its competitors may see a slight blip from a potential Pier 1 liquidation, "it won't affect the bottom line of Amazon or Wayfair in any meaningful way.

Heinous business practice. Two pillows were purchased online and upon reception we decided to return them. There is no way to do this via a form on the Pier One website.
You must call and ask for them to process the return. We were first told that the refund would be less shipping charges and we would have to verify FedEx delivery and request refund by phone once the items were delivered. When calling Pier One once the items were returned we were told that Pier One would only issue a store credit. Not covering shipping and on top of that requiring a follow-up via phone was bad enough. Then learning that they would only grant store credit was outrageous. We will never be purchasing from Pier One again and would no longer recommend doing business with this company.
